Management Controller – Outpatient Sector

Every figure tells a story. At the Fribourg hospital (HFR), your analyses will contribute to the management and development of outpatient activity, support medical and nursing teams, and assist strategic decisions of a reference establishment.

Your mission

As a true partner of the medical and nursing managers, you ensure the management control of the outpatient sector. You contribute to efficient resource management, monitoring economic performance and developing outpatient activities.

You will notably be required to:

• support managers in financial management and development of outpatient activities;
• prepare outpatient activity budgets and ensure their monitoring;
• analyse activity, revenues, costs and profitability of outpatient services and propose optimisation avenues;
• build business plans and monitor their implementation;
• produce relevant financial reports and specific analyses related to outpatient activity;
• develop management indicators to monitor activity, performance and efficiency of the outpatient sector;
• participate in the evolution of cost accounting and management tools, notably to improve transparency of costs and results of outpatient services;
• contribute to monitoring economic impacts caused by outpatient tariff changes;
• ensure compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements.

Your profile

You enjoy understanding, analysing and proposing concrete solutions.

You have:

• a university or HES degree in business management, specialising in management control, or an equivalent certificate/title (expert in finance and controlling, etc.);
• at least 5 years’ experience in management control, ideally in healthcare and/or managing outpatient activities;
• excellent mastery of Excel (pivot tables, advanced functions) and ease with business intelligence (BI) tools;
• a good knowledge of Swiss healthcare financing and tariff structures, particularly in the outpatient field (TARDOC and outpatient flat rates), is a significant asset;
• a developed analytical mind, rigour and good synthesis skills;
• a proactive, autonomous and solution-oriented personality;
• strong interpersonal skills enabling collaboration with diverse stakeholders;
• good stress resistance and a sense of priorities;
• excellent command of French or German, with good knowledge of the other language.
