The town of Illnau-Effretikon - located between Winterthur and Zurich - offers attractive conditions for its approximately 18,000 inhabitants with its rural and urban areas, hamlets, centres, and the historic village of Kyburg. 
Our team in the Building Department is committed to municipal properties - mainly schools and kindergartens - throughout their entire lifecycle. To complement our team, we are looking for a service-oriented individual from 1 March 2027 or by arrangement as

Caretaker 80% (School Complex and Depot)

YOUR TASKS IN THIS ROLE ARE:

• the care and maintenance of outdoor areas, green spaces, and paved hard surfaces.
• the proper separation, disposal, and management of waste and recyclable materials.
• collaboration in the structural and technical maintenance of buildings and facilities.
• carrying out winter services to ensure operational and traffic safety on the premises.
• performing maintenance, interim, and deep cleaning inside the buildings.
• competent support and assistance to our users regarding matters related to the property.
• acting as a deputy for staff in the caretaking area.

YOUR PROFILE FITS EXCELLENTLY IF YOU:

• have completed training as a specialist in operational maintenance with a federal certificate of competence (EFZ), specialising in building services, or have a comparable qualification.
• hold a category B driving licence (mandatory).
• have good oral and written German skills.
• ideally have some professional experience and a flair for the requirements of school operations.
• contribute to constructive exchanges with your commitment, strong customer orientation, and reliable manner.
• distinguish yourself through an independent, efficient, and service-oriented working style.
• have good PC user skills.
