Are you looking for a challenge at the cutting edge? With the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Glarus Self-Determination and Participation Act, the Disability Affairs and Social Institutions Office is taking on new, responsible tasks.
Due to the promotion of the previous post holder, we are looking for a
Head of the Disability Affairs and Social Institutions Office 80–100%
immediately or by arrangement, based in Glarus.
Responsibilities
- Further development of outpatient, semi-inpatient and inpatient services for people with disabilities in the areas of housing, work and education as well as social participation
- Implementation of the new Self-Determination and Participation Act as well as advising specialist offices and organisations on issues of equality for people with disabilities
- Review of operating licence applications for disability facilities and children and youth homes and exercising supervisory functions
- Conducting tariff negotiations and developing service agreements with partners in the disability sector
- Review and processing of investment and placement applications
- Budgeting, financial planning and controlling
- Exchange and networking with cantonal and extra-cantonal committees and organisations
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in social work, business administration or an equivalent education and training
- Sound knowledge of the disability sector and a strong interest in social and health issues
- Business management skills with sound knowledge of accounting, financial management and controlling
- Analytical and conceptual thinking skills as well as adeptness in project work, developing concepts and writing reports
- Negotiation skills and assertiveness
- High self-motivation, resilience and flexibility
