Your new role
In this varied and responsible position, you actively contribute to the safe and sustainable operation of our modern waste incineration power plant. You monitor and control the technical processes in the areas of delivery, combustion, energy generation, and flue gas cleaning, thereby making an important contribution to regional energy supply and environmental technology.
Look forward to a diverse working environment with modern plant technology and exciting challenges in the power plant world. In addition to troubleshooting and regular inspections of plant components, you also participate in maintenance, repair, and cleaning work.
Particularly attractive: The training to become a heating plant operator with a federal certificate of competence is fully supported and financially covered within the first three to four years – including suitable specialist courses and comprehensive support throughout the entire training.
You are a good fit for us if you
- have completed basic training and possess technical understanding in the areas of mechanics, electrical engineering, or building technology.

Your department
The modern waste incineration power plant (KHK), a division of Entsorgung St.Gallen, is responsible for the utilisation of waste and energy generation from it. The KHK is thus a central pillar of the "Energy Strategy 2050" of the City of St.Gallen. Approximately 80,000 tonnes of waste are thermally processed annually in continuous shift operation. Our plant corresponds to the latest technical standards and meets all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
We maintain an open, constructive collaboration within the operations and with other departments of the city as well as external bodies. A collegial and fair approach as well as the continuous improvement of our structures and processes are important to us. We value and promote personal responsibility through modern working tools.
