About the job
You will establish the newly created Legal Competence Centre and thereby strengthen WAS as a future-proof, effective and service-oriented social insurance organisation.
WAS Wirtschaft Arbeit Soziales is the Lucerne centre for social insurances. The organisation unites the business areas Compensation Office, IV, wira and Services under one roof and provides important services for the population, economy and public sector. As part of the strategic realignment, the legal services are consolidated into a single department. This creates a demanding leadership role with genuine scope for development and design, high professional relevance and direct impact on the organisation. As
Head of Legal Department, 80–100 %
you will take responsibility for the newly created department with around 30 lawyers. You will directly lead three team leaders as well as the secretariat, develop sustainable structures, clear processes and effective collaboration. Together with your team, you will ensure efficient and high-quality handling of objections and complaints. At the same time, you will position the Legal Department as a competent, service-oriented and future-proof specialist unit within WAS. You will drive the further development of the department in line with the strategy of WAS Lucerne and advise the Services business unit management as well as the executive management on legal matters.
You have a university law degree with a lawyer’s licence and bring leadership experience in a legally oriented environment. You are proficient in social insurance law and also open to related legal areas such as data protection, public personnel law and organisation-related issues. As a reflective and committed leader, you provide orientation, build trust and shape change processes constructively. You think strategically, quickly recognise connections and combine legal precision with pragmatism, a service mindset and a strong sense of efficient processes. A high affinity for digitalisation, organisational development and modern collaboration rounds off your profile.
You can expect a strategically significant leadership role with great scope for action, a wide variety of legal topics and a modern organisation with attractive employment conditions .
