About the job
Preparation
Arrive on time or even better a little earlier for your appointment so that you can arrive with us in complete calm.
We have already discussed with you in a brief preliminary conversation how the dental treatment with hypnosis will proceed and why it works so well.
You will now be guided by a dental assistant into the treatment room, where you can sit down on the treatment chair. Make sure it is as comfortable as possible for you so that you can breathe well and calmly without any distractions.
At the beginning of the treatment, your dentist will ask you again whether he may accompany you into hypnosis so that you can make a conscious decision at this moment. This is important for a good start to the treatment. You will also be asked if it is okay to switch to the informal "du" form, as your subconscious is much more accessible for relaxation this way. You have already been explained why this is so in the preliminary conversation.
Treatment
Your dentist will now guide you in conscious breathing so that you can soon have your eyes deeply relaxed and closed. At the same time, you will mentally embark on a journey to your favourite place, also guided by your practitioner. In this process, you will agree on a signal with your dentist, e.g. raising your left arm, with which you can interrupt the treatment at any time for a short break or a question, but still remain in hypnosis.
Your dentist will now begin the treatment, continuing to involve you in conversation and explanations.
Since you are not asleep during hypnosis but simply mentally at a pleasant place, it actually does not matter to you that work is being done in your mouth, yet you remain very present when it is important for you.
When the treatment is completed, your practitioner will bring you back from the deep calm, perhaps you were in the "Caribbean" 😉, to the here and now with a counting technique, and you will be amazed at how much time has passed.
AFTERWARDS
You may feel a little tired for the moment, but shortly afterwards you will get up and prepare to say goodbye.
In principle, you can drive home alone by car afterwards without any problems, but if you feel a little uncertain, do have someone accompany you.
