About the job

The police forces of Switzerland and the federal agencies entrusted with police tasks have established a public-law corporation "Police Technology and Informatics (PTI) Switzerland" to jointly procure IT solutions and technical products as well as to gradually harmonise existing solutions. To strengthen our PTI office (14 people), which is administratively attached to the Zurich Cantonal Police, we are looking for a professionally qualified individual who, due to their police and leadership experience, is suitable for the following newly created role:

Team Leader of the Office (PTI) 80 - 100%

Tasks

• Building and leading a new team that will primarily manage mission- and business-critical centralised applications and products within the PTI office in the future. Product management mainly includes release and lifecycle management as well as the organisational, professional and financial control of the solutions in cooperation with the relevant PTI committees. A key task is also the monitoring of externally provided operational services (performance, availability, security).
• Coordination of external project managers and staff who support the demanding tasks in addition to internal resources.
• Ensuring the legal and contractual foundations, the PTI procedural methodology, as well as budget and architectural guidelines in the individual projects and products.
• Leading and coordinating heterogeneous, multilingual and interdisciplinary operational and project committees. Responsibility for nationwide product communication and product marketing.
• If suitable, there is the opportunity to become part of the successor solution to the existing PTI leadership, which will be due in 4-5 years due to retirements.

Profile

• Completed studies (university, ETH, university of applied sciences) in a technical field with business management further training (or vice versa)
• Many years of police and leadership experience in logistics, IT or technical environments
• Good methodological competence in IT operations and project management (ITIL, Hermes, Scrum) as well as ideally in service management and business analysis
• Resilient personality, accustomed to deadline pressure with a certain willingness to travel (supporting all Swiss police forces)
• Negotiation-strong, proactive and solution-oriented personality with pronounced analytical and conceptual skills, who knows how to systematically and purposefully structure themselves even in a complex environment
• Native German or French speaker as well as good knowledge of the other language in spoken and written form (at least B2)
• Impeccable reputation
