familea is a socially responsible association with a 125-year tradition in the Basel area. In over 40 day-care centres, we care for around 3,000 children. We run children’s and youth homes, the foster care centre, and a social and legal advice service for women. Our services strengthen families, children and women. With over 900 employees - around 200 of whom are apprentices and students - we are a recognised and significant professional and training institution in the social sector.
The training is aimed at people who would like to learn the profession of childcare specialist EFZ. familea is an innovative training organisation and also offers learners a perspective beyond the training period. We place great importance on close and professional support during the training and ensure with progressive training standards that learners are optimally prepared for professional life.

Childcare Specialist or Shortened Basic Training FaBe Child EFZ
Your tasks
- You enjoy accompanying children in everyday life and in a variety of situations and supporting the children entrusted to us in mastering the demands of everyday life.
- Creative activities such as crafting, singing, playing
- Accompanying the children in topics of personal care
- Designing a varied, interesting and structured daily routine based on our pedagogical concept
- Professionally building and shaping relationships with the people cared for
- Contributing yourself in the daily life of the children’s group
- Supporting the children with age-appropriate empathy
- Communicating with children on a respectful level
- Supporting other employees in the group’s daily routine and contributing to a pleasant atmosphere for children, parents and the day-care team
Your profile
- We are looking for an upbeat, positive person who maintains a respectful and empathetic approach to children and parents.
- Completed compulsory schooling with intermediate or higher requirements
- Very good oral and written German skills
- Good comprehension and willingness to work on learning content independently and responsibly
- Team spirit and willingness to learn new things
- High sense of responsibility with good powers of observation and quick reaction ability
