Workshop Manager Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety Department
To complete its team, the Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety Department (CIT-S) of the CHUV is looking for a Workshop Manager for the Epalinges site, at a workload of 80% to 100%, starting 1st September 2026 or as agreed.

Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. In collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, medical research and education.
The Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety Department (CIT-S) of the CHUV has as its main missions the operation, maintenance, construction, engineering, technical assistance and advice within a large hospital property portfolio.
Its missions are structured around three main axes:
- the construction and modernisation of infrastructures and technical installations
- the operation and maintenance of technical and biomedical equipment, ensuring the continuity of medical, research and administrative activities
- the protection and safety of property and people.
Within this framework, you contribute to the smooth running of a complex technical estate, including nearly 700 monoblocs, and intervene on critical installations such as pharmaceutical manufacturing areas or operating theatres.
Mission
- You manage, coordinate and organise the workshop
- You lead technical projects of medium complexity within your field of expertise
- You are an expert in electrical installations, both high and low voltage, or in heating, ventilation and air conditioning
- You ensure active technological monitoring in your area of expertise
- You collaborate closely with engineers responsible for energy performance actions (APE) and energy, as well as other workshop managers in technical operations
- You work in an environment subject to a Quality Management System
- You may be required to perform on-call duties as well as work outside normal hours.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as an automation technician, sanitary installer, electrician or an equivalent qualification
- Ideally, you have a master craftsman’s certificate or higher technical training
- You have solid experience (minimum 5 years) in the operation and maintenance of technical installations
- You have proven experience in personnel management
- You possess good knowledge of hospital technical installations, climate or electrical systems
- You master the standards, laws and regulations related to technical professions
- You are comfortable using office and professional IT tools.
