Agricultural Staff Member Research Station Früebüel (m/f/d)

ETH Zurich is one of the world’s leading universities for natural sciences and technology. The Institute of Agricultural Sciences in the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS) deals with animal husbandry, plant sciences, and economics in the global and Swiss context of agriculture and conducts relevant basic and applied research.

We are looking for a committed person (workload 80-100%) who enjoys versatile agricultural work in a research-oriented environment. This position is to be filled from 01.01.2027 or by arrangement. It is initially limited to 12 months; there is the possibility that the position will be changed to a permanent contract in the short to medium term.

Job Description

Your main tasks include animal husbandry, fodder production, landscape maintenance, and machine maintenance on the agricultural farm Früebüel. You document your work and your assessments of animal health electronically. You work closely in a team of agricultural staff as well as with the farm manager and researchers, developing solutions for challenges as a team. With your manual skills and attentive eye, you contribute to the optimal care and well-being of the animals as well as to the maintenance and upkeep of machines and equipment.

Profile

• You preferably have the EFZ farmer qualification and experience in agriculture or garden/landscape maintenance and animal care
• You enjoy physical work outdoors
• You work reliably and responsibly with initiative
