Michael Gerber, Head of Monument Preservation of the Canton of Bern and Archaeologist
Michael Gerber attended the Gymnasium in Burgdorf and studied archaeology, architectural history, monument preservation, and ancient history at the University of Bern. Afterwards, he worked, among other roles, as an excavation leader in Jordan and was co-owner of an office for the search and processing of cultural-historical information. Since 1996, he has been active in various functions at the cantonal monument preservation office. Since 2009, he has headed the cantonal authority.
