About the job

You lead the service department of our panoramic restaurant both professionally and organisationally and support the management operationally. You coordinate processes between the restaurant, kitchen, hotel, and railway operations, ensure clear structures, actively shape processes, and take responsibility for operational quality throughout the entire business.

Responsibilities

• Operational responsibility for the entire guest service operation (service, reception, daily and occasional evening service)
• Coordination of processes between service, kitchen, hotel, and railway operations
• Scheduling, briefings, and daily organisation
• Host role with responsibility for guest care, service quality, and smooth operations
• Leadership, training, and development of the team
• Ensuring quality, cleanliness, and standards
• Support for groups and events
• Further development of service processes during ongoing operations
• Close collaboration with management
• Ensuring service processes during the busy lunch period

Requirements

• High social competence
• Solid experience in gastronomy or hospitality, ideally in dynamic or high-volume establishments
• Passion for hospitality and enjoyment in leading guests and teams
• Operational strength and structured, reliable working style
• Host personality with natural presence and professional appearance
• Organisational talent, clear communication, and calm leadership even on busy days
• Experience in team leadership, training, and development of employees
• Good understanding of wine and interest in regional producers as well as enjoyment in discovering and further developing suitable wines for our offering
• Knowledge of relevant hygiene and safety standards in the service area
• Willingness to take responsibility and develop long-term

Languages

• German: fluent in spoken and written
• English: fluent spoken is an advantage
• French: fluent spoken is an advantage
• Swiss German: good understanding is an advantage

Specific Knowledge

• Cash register systems: user and administrator experience
• Accounting systems: user experience
• Word, Excel, PowerPoint: user experience
• Wallis leisure destination: knowledge and networking are an advantage
• Experience with table or reservation systems is an advantage
• Experience handling high guest volumes and fast service cycles is an advantage
