Join us in advocating for a more humane world!
As a Delegate for Humanitarian Diplomacy and Strategic Engagement, you play a key role in strengthening the Swiss Red Cross's (SRC) global commitment and expanding strategic partnerships. As part of a dynamic and motivated team, you support the SRC's multilateral engagement in priority areas such as strengthening international humanitarian law and humanitarian principles, climate change, migration, or health. This position is fixed-term (01.06.2026 to 31.12.2028).
What you can achieve
- Advocacy and diplomacy in the humanitarian field in line with the SRC's strategic priorities according to its International Cooperation Programme 2025–2028 (including promotion of international humanitarian law)
- Strengthening and building strategic partnerships within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and with other partners, especially institutional partners as well as donors in Switzerland
- Strategic positioning of the SRC at the global level
- Identifying trends and opportunities in international multilateral financing and developments in the humanitarian field worldwide
What you bring
- University degree in international relations, political science, law, or a related field. Additional specialisation in international humanitarian law (IHL) or specific training related to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an advantage
- At least 10 years of professional experience in international relations, politics, or diplomacy
- Knowledge in strategy analysis and editorial skills for reporting and promoting strategic engagement with diverse stakeholders
- Experience in project management
- Excellent language skills in English as well as German or French (C1+)
