Job description
The Coercive Measures Court (ZMG) authorises, for the entire canton, upon request of the public prosecutor's office, the juvenile judge, the police, the first-instance courts, the Office for Justice Enforcement and Probation or the Office for Population and Migration, particularly intrusive coercive measures in the field of criminal and administrative law. It makes its decisions through a single judge.
Desired profile
- Lawyer's licence, licentiate or master's degree in law and sufficient practical knowledge for the exercise of the office
- Sound knowledge of criminal law
- 60% position requiring high availability to ensure on-call duties
- The Judicial Council is looking for a bilingual judge. The position is also open to a German-speaking judge who is willing and able, with the support of a bilingual court clerk, to handle French-speaking cases. Good to very good oral French skills are required, especially good to very good comprehension and sufficient oral expression
- Voting rights in cantonal matters. Foreign nationals must hold a residence permit and have lived in the canton for at least five years. There must be no loss certificates against the persons. They must not have been criminally convicted for acts incompatible with the judicial office
