Architect as Construction Consultant

As a construction consultant, you take on a special role and prepare technical assessments and expert reports on construction projects on behalf of the specialised directorates and offices for the allocation of government grants as well as contributions from the lottery and cultural funds.

Your tasks

• Assessment of applications for government grants as well as contributions from lottery and cultural funds for construction projects of public and private clients (special schools, children and youth homes, facilities for the disabled, private schools, fund projects)
• Technical and economic assessment of the projects to be examined; advising applicants (municipalities, private individuals as well as the specialised directorates on construction-specific questions)
• Preparation of well-founded reports and expert opinions

Your profile

• Education as an architect ETH/FH
• Many years of broad professional experience in the planning and realisation of complex construction projects
• In-depth knowledge of real estate economics for the assessment of construction costs
• Strong proficiency in written expression

It ensures competent planning and realisation of new buildings, maintenance and art-and-construction projects of public buildings. It is committed to sustainability and building culture, ensures careful use of resources and high operational suitability.

In addition, the Building Office is also responsible for the technical assessment of government grants as well as contributions from lottery and cultural funds. Over 130 construction projects are examined annually by the specialist department for assessments on behalf of the specialised directorates and offices and subsidised by the Canton of Zurich.
