Department of Civil Engineering

We are looking for a head for the Strategies for Transport and Urban Space department from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement.
Tasks
- You will lead the Strategies for Transport and Urban Space department in terms of personnel, organisation and expertise with 5–7 employees and continuously develop it further.
- As a member of the Transport and Urban Space management team, you will prepare the multi-year plan, prioritise ongoing tasks, topics and projects, and further develop the professional stance of the division.
- Together with your employees, you will develop and advance the fundamentals, strategies and implementation aids in the areas of transport and urban space – especially for mobility and transport such as motorised individual transport, cycling, freight transport and logistics, and parking – and coordinate their implementation.
- You will contribute to strategies, concepts and strategic projects of other departments.
- You will represent integrated mobility, transport and urban space planning as well as the interests of the Department of Civil Engineering in professional, political and other exchange committees.
Profile
- Completed university degree in transport and mobility planning, spatial planning or comparable qualification
- Several years of leadership experience as well as experience in integrated mobility, transport and urban space planning
- Leadership skills, flexible and independent working style as well as cooperation and conflict management skills
- Responsible, structured and analytical working style with a desire to shape and performance orientation
- Confident German language skills in speaking and writing, strong team and communication skills as well as enjoyment in working with politics and various interest groups
