Job Description

Position Context

As part of the modernisation of its information system dedicated to energy trading, our client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst specialised in Pricing & Modelling.

The company is developing its electricity trading activities and investing in various energy assets, including renewable energies, batteries and electricity production infrastructures.

A strategic project to migrate to a new ETRM (Energy Trading & Risk Management) platform is underway to replace the legacy system with a modern and scalable solution.

You will work at the interface between business teams, IT and vendors, to translate functional needs into suitable solutions.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis and Functional Design

• Gather, analyse and formalise business requirements in the form of functional specifications, features and User Stories.
• Collaborate with business teams to understand their processes, objectives and priorities.
• Participate in the configuration of the ETRM platform: settings, workflows, templates and pricing.
• Work with technical teams and vendors to design and implement solutions.
• Propose improvements to business processes and ensure solution consistency with IT strategy.

Testing and Quality

• Define and execute functional and non-regression test strategies and plans.
• Support users during acceptance testing phases (UAT).
• Coordinate anomaly tracking and resolution.
• Participate in production deployments and migration activities.

Project Management and Support

• Participate in the migration project to the new ETRM platform.
• Contribute to change management: communication, training and user support.
• Monitor the backlog of enhancements.
• Provide functional support and assist in incident resolution.
• Become the reference for Pricing & Modelling topics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the energy sector or Commodity Trading.
• Experience with ETRM platforms (Orchestrade, Calypso, Murex, Endur…).
• Good knowledge of European electricity markets and trading processes.
• Expertise in Pricing & Modelling: MtM, DCF, Forward Curves, valuation and risk management.
• Understanding of Front-to-Risk flows, physical and financial instruments and P&L calculations.
• Proficiency in functional analysis, specifications and UAT testing.
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Higher education in computer science or engineering.
• Fluent in French and English.
