International technology company in Zurich is looking for a General Accountant. The position offers a versatile finance environment with responsibility for financial statements, reporting and accounting.

Our client is an internationally active technology and industrial group focusing on aerospace, transport, defence, security and space. With globally operating teams, it develops innovative technologies and solutions for demanding customers and exciting markets. At the Zurich location, you will support customers and organisations as a General Accountant together with an international team in ensuring digital and physical security.

Your tasks with the new employer:

• In this position, you report directly to the CFO and work closely with operational departments, the group finance department, an international shared service centre, purchasing, tax advisors and auditors in an international and team-oriented finance environment
• Responsibility for the accuracy and reliability of postings as well as for carrying out the monthly closing tasks according to the standards IFRS and Swiss GAAP FER, including preparation, monitoring and validation of individual and consolidated financial statements
• Close cooperation with the shared service centre and purchasing to support an efficient procure-to-pay process as well as timely payment processing
• Coordination of tax matters and requirements with external tax advisors
• Support in the preparation of group reporting packages and provision of reliable financial information for management
• Participation in monitoring financial development and analysing deviations from the budget
• Identification of risks, opportunities and possible mispostings as well as recommendation of appropriate corrective measures
• Escalation and clarification of significant financial or accounting issues to the responsible parties

You offer your new employer:

• Several years of solid professional experience in accounting, ideally with a broad range of tasks in financial accounting
• Swiss Federal Certificate in Finance and Accounting or a comparable qualification; alternatively, you are currently on the way to completion
• Very good knowledge of Swiss accounting regulations as well as good knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards
• Practical experience with closing tasks, financial reporting and internal accounting controls
• Understanding of tax issues as well as experience in working with external tax advisors and auditors
• Very good German and English skills for collaboration with national and international contacts
• Strong communication, team and analytical skills
• Independent and solution-oriented working style as well as the ability to recognise problems early and initiate appropriate measures
