Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to protecting and defending the interests of the child.
To fulfil its mission, the institution manages more than 40 structures across the Canton of Geneva, has over 500 places for minors and young adults, and also offers educational outreach services at home. The FOJ is composed of more than 700 employees.
To carry out its mission, the FOJ offers an apprenticeship place at its Pierre-Grise Home, leading to a Federal Vocational Certificate (AFP) as a kitchen employee.
Job Description
- We offer a 2-year training and supervision with a professional cook, within the framework of meal preparation for the users and staff of the home
- This involves participating in the preparation of balanced meals according to the "Fourchette Verte" labelled dietary plan, developing creativity, taste, organisation and rigour
- This training will also develop skills in stock management, compliance with hygiene and food safety standards, as well as teamwork, while contributing to providing tasty meals adapted to the nutritional needs of users and staff.
Participation in a one-week kitchen internship to test the working environment in a home
Activity rate: 100%
Contract duration: 2 years, August 2026 to June 2028
Contract type: Apprenticeship
Qualifications
- A strong interest in cooking
- High motivation and eagerness to learn, to discover the working world within a youth-dedicated foundation
- Positive attitude and ability to work closely with the head chef
- Several kitchen internships validating interest and motivation for the profession
- Ability to adapt to varied and sometimes urgent tasks
- Must be at least 15 years old.

Must be Swiss nationality or hold a valid work permit.
