Head of Business Development (80-100%) (a)
The Real Estate Department is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of Empa's infrastructure. It also serves as the joint client representation body for three research institutions within the ETH domain.
As a staff unit with specialist and leadership responsibilities, you are the central contact person for organisational development and digitalisation – for all three line areas Construction & Projects, Technology & Operations, as well as Management & Services, and overarching for the department as a whole. In addition, you lead a small team both professionally and personally.
Your tasks
You identify and implement strategies for organisational development and digitalisation and lead and coordinate related IT and business development projects while adhering to quality, schedule, and cost targets. You evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions for process optimisation and lead a small team (2-3 employees) in the areas of application management and data management both professionally and personally. In collaboration with department and division heads, you help develop digitalisation strategies and shape the "Empa Real Estate Strategy" in the areas of business development and IT. You analyse existing and newly emerging requirements from the federal government, ETH Board, and KBOB regarding the digitalisation of real estate management and develop concepts to optimise and digitalise administrative processes and services for employees and internal customers. Additionally, you advise and train employees in the use of new technologies and support management with reports and presentations.
Your profile
You have a completed degree in business informatics, business administration, or a related field; additional qualifications in business development or IT management are advantageous. You bring several years of professional experience in business development, ideally in the real estate sector or public sector, as well as proven experience in leading and executing IT and digitalisation projects. Experience in the professional and personnel management of employees is beneficial. You are familiar with project management and proficient in using agile methods and tools.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking as well as a high affinity for digital technologies and innovations characterise you, as does a team- and solution-oriented working style. You communicate fluently in German and have very good English skills, both spoken and written. Your workplace is in Dübendorf; you benefit from independent scheduling of your working hours with flexible working time options.
