About the job
You have several years of experience in software development and are ready for the next step? At APP, you will further develop our core application, contribute your own ideas, and work on solutions used daily by over 120 employees.
Since 1977, we have been advising clients at the interface between business and IT. Our consultants are committed to sustainable solutions in the areas of organisation and processes, information technology, strategy, corporate management, and project management.
What to expect
As part of our internal development team, you actively shape the core application of our company. Together with your agile Scrum team, you continuously develop our internal information system and implement new functionalities from conception to implementation. Our application supports central business processes such as planning, scheduling, skill matching, and invoicing.
Technologically, you work with a web-based in-house development based on Ruby on Rails. We are currently modernising the frontend from the ground up: responsive, user-friendly, and with a clear workflow from Figma mockups to implementation. At the same time, we are evaluating how the targeted use of AI can meaningfully support and make our development work more efficient.
Your tasks
- Further development and operation of our internal information system as well as other applications
- Developing backend solutions with Ruby on Rails including database design
- Developing modern frontends with JavaScript and Tailwind as well as co-designing UI and UX, among others within the scope of our frontend rewrite
- Operating and further developing our container and CI/CD landscape with Docker, GitLab, and Tailnet
- Independently developing solution concepts and implementing the chosen solution
- Supporting other technical topics, for example in the area of AI, conceptual work, or additional applications
Your profile
- Completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in software development (full-time or equivalent)
- Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming, ideally with Ruby on Rails
- Confident handling of web technologies such as JavaScript and Tailwind as well as experience with DevOps topics like Docker and CI/CD
- Openness to new technologies and interest in AI-supported working methods
- Analytical thinking, quick comprehension, as well as an independent and reliable working style
- Very good German skills at least at C1 level
What we offer you
- Responsible tasks with room for your own ideas
- An agile Scrum team that works together on equal footing
- Opportunity for professional supervision of working students
- Exciting projects and current development topics, such as our frontend rewrite and the considered use of AI
- Flexible working hours and a work model that combines home office and shared days in the office
