Research Associate in the Financial Assistance Specialist Unit - Processes & Projects 80%Good for life – that is our motto. As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counselling (AJB) is responsible for services in the area of child and youth welfare as well as career counselling. Children, young people and families are at the centre of our work. We dedicate ourselves to them daily with great passion and commitment.
The Financial Assistance department at AJB reviews applications for financial support for individuals and organisations committed to helping people – from scholarships and loans to alimony assistance and subsidies for non-profit projects and services.
For the specialist unit of the Financial Assistance department, we are seeking a forward-looking, independent and conceptually strong personality from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Further development and optimisation of the Subsidy Coordination Office with a focus on process improvement, portfolio development and strategy implementation
- Financial review of subsidy applications in close collaboration with specialists from other service areas and management units
- Support of the Financial Assistance department in further initiatives to optimise processes in the Alimony Assistance and Scholarships divisions
- Preparation of statistics and evaluations
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Business Law or Public Management
- Several years of professional experience, preferably in the public sector
- Know-how in fiduciary services, auditing or financial controlling
- Experience in project management with relevant further training
- Independent, structured working style and strong conceptual skills
- Excellent expression and precise communication
- Enjoyment in shaping change processes and perseverance in pursuing goals
- Humour and high social competence
