The Crans-Montana Clinic , nestled in the heart of the Valais Alps, is a hospital site of the HUG. Its hospital missions consist of caring for patients for rehabilitation in general internal medicine and psychosomatics, polyvalent post-operative or post-hospitalisation rehabilitation in an acute setting.
Job Description
At the Crans-Montana Clinic, the kitchen team prepares around 180 meals daily for patients as well as the institution’s staff. It also offers a light catering service in the cafeteria. Its mission is to guarantee a balanced, varied and tasty diet, meeting Swiss nutritional recommendations and prepared in compliance with hygiene and food safety standards. Labelled "Cuisinons notre région" and "Fourchette verte", the service prioritises fresh and local products to highlight the flavours of the region.
As an apprentice chef or cook, you participate in the preparation and production of dishes for a varied clientele, taking into account the specific dietary requirements related to the hospital environment.
The diversity of services and the demands specific to our care environment allow you to benefit from a rich and comprehensive training. You will discover all the kitchen stations and progressively develop your technical and organisational skills.
During your training, you will learn food preparation and cooking techniques, hygiene and food safety rules, as well as the basics of organising and managing a professional kitchen, in accordance with the objectives of your course.
Qualifications
You have successfully completed your compulsory schooling.
You enjoy teamwork and maintain good relationships with others.
You are motivated by the culinary field and wish to acquire genuine professional expertise.
Curious and creative, you enjoy discovering new flavours, products and culinary techniques.
You demonstrate rigour, organisational skills and a good capacity for learning.
You have an interest in the hospital environment and are ready to commit to training combining practical experience in a company and school education.
