Role:
On behalf of a client, we are looking for a structural engineer for demanding projects in building and bridge structural engineering. You will take on essential tasks in the design and structural engineering processing of load-bearing structures and participate in the leadership and coordination of project teams. You will accompany projects through various SIA phases and maintain close professional communication with clients, architects, specialist planners, and authorities. The position combines demanding structural design with increasing project and coordination responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Design and processing of demanding load-bearing structures in building and bridge structural engineering
Execution of structural calculations, load-bearing analyses, and dimensioning for concrete, steel, and composite structures
Development of economical and technically convincing structural and construction concepts
Handling projects through the relevant SIA phases from design to realisation
Preparation and review of structural verifications, technical reports, and calculation bases
Participation in the technical leadership and coordination of project teams
Coordination of structural design with architecture, specialist planning, and executing companies
Consultation and technical support of clients, architects, and authorities
Support in tenders, bids, and awards as well as in the assessment of technical contractor variants
Supervision of execution including plan review, site management, and technical clarifications on site
Ensuring compliance with relevant SIA standards, quality requirements, and project-specific specifications
Qualifications:
Completed degree as ETH structural engineer with a focus on structural engineering or comparable specialisation
Expertise in structural analysis, structural design, and structural engineering
Knowledge in building and/or bridge construction as well as in the dimensioning of common structural systems
Good knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss planning fundamentals
Experience with industry-standard structural, calculation, and CAD/BIM software is an advantage
Experience in design and project coordination in the Swiss construction industry is an advantage
Very good German language skills in spoken and written form
