YOUR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Responsible expert for advising and supporting engineering, project management, and procurement throughout the entire project phase
- Preparation of product cost calculations (target, actual, and goal costs) as well as creation and further development of calculation models and cost breakdowns for rail vehicle components
- Estimating the cost impact of design changes (Design-to-Cost) and advising development to find cost-optimal solutions (Design-to-Value)
- Preparation of business cases, make-or-buy analyses, and conducting scenario analyses
- Cross-departmental and cross-site collaboration with production, strategic purchasing, and external suppliers
- Identification and implementation of cost optimisation potentials through value analysis (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) and Design-to-Cost workshops
YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Completed studies in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or comparable technical education with relevant further training
- Several years of professional experience in design, development, industrial engineering, cost engineering, or technical purchasing
- Experience in Design-to-Cost, Value Engineering, and cost optimisation of technical products
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, production cost structures, and industrial production processes
- Confident handling of CAD, ERP, and calculation systems
- Very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written
