About the job
The areas of responsibility at the Forensic Technical Service (KTD) mainly lie in the provision of physical evidence. This is becoming increasingly important. The aim of the KTD work is, in cooperation with case handlers of criminal cases, to identify suspects, provide proof of the offence and clarify the course of events with physical evidence. To do this, KTD staff secure traces of all kinds using current methods and modern equipment. The KTD is also responsible for identification service tasks. The broad field of activity in the context of crime scene work and specialised tasks in the evaluation work in the laboratories make the profession very interesting. Precise, independent and responsible work are important prerequisites.
Your tasks
- Securing traces at scenes and in laboratories
- Independent forensic processing of incidents and offences
- Trace evaluation and reporting
- Close cooperation with:
- investigating specialists
- the Institute of Forensic Medicine
- the Forensic Institute Zurich
- the Public Prosecutor's Office
- external experts and specialist offices
Your profile
- Police training with corresponding several years of professional experience, preferably in the investigative environment, and/or completion of forensic higher education (preferably Master of Science University of Lausanne)
- Very good IT user skills
- Interest in natural sciences, technology and photography
- Analytical, networked thinking and quick comprehension
- Service-oriented understanding of tasks and quality awareness
- Confident German language skills, spoken and written
- Enjoyment of independent work as well as teamwork
- Initiative and resilience
- Willingness for specialised further training
