Senior Data Engineer AWS Redshift

We are looking for a motivated person in the role of Senior AWS Data Engineer, with experience in implementing complex distributed data platforms and applications on AWS to process heterogeneous and large data volumes. Ideally, a person with experience in AWS analytics technologies such as AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, AWS Quicksight, as well as general expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure.

Your tasks

As a Senior AWS Data Engineer, you work in multiple teams including data engineers, architects, and scientists to build and operate state-of-the-art data analytics platforms. The role requires technical skills in analytics ecosystems focusing on AWS infrastructure and open-source software.

• You participate in one or more AWS data platform projects and independently implement high-quality data pipelines and cloud data infrastructures
• You coordinate requirements with the customer and act as a coach for less experienced team members
• You are co-responsible for the design, code, and configuration of components that manage data ingestion, real-time streaming, batch processing, data extraction, and transformation across multiple data sources and applications
• You share your experience within the team and help leverage synergies between projects
• You assist in creating proposals for customer projects
• You collaborate with business analysts and data scientists to understand and realize their use cases

Your profile

• University degree ETH/UNI/FH with several years of programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala
• Over 5 years of implementation skills with AWS technologies in the data area such as AWS Redshift and AWS Glue
• Over 3 years of experience in deploying and automating cloud solutions in AWS with Terraform or comparable tools
• Fluent in German and English
• Experience in data modeling and data governance
• Experience in SQL databases and ETL tools, e.g., Teradata, Informatica PowerCenter
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices throughout the entire development cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Data warehouse as well as data mesh knowledge complete the profile
