Medical Specialist in the Field of Medical Coding 80-100%
This is what your daily routine looks like
- You will gradually familiarise yourself with medical coding according to ICD and CHOP as well as the relevant tariff and regulatory basics. In doing so, you will review selected inpatient cases and apply your medical expertise purposefully.
- Using modern systems, you will analyse medical documentation, identify inconsistencies, and clarify open questions.
- You will formulate clear and concise statements on incorrect codings.
- You will support experienced coders in assessing more complex cases and continuously expand your skills.
- With increasing experience, you will independently take on more demanding tasks in medical coding review.
- You will start with a structured introduction to medical coding. With appropriate development and mutual interest, we will specifically support you on your path to becoming a Medical Coder.
What you bring with you
- First and foremost: You have completed basic medical or nursing training, at least at the level of a Swiss Federal Diploma of Higher Education (HF) nurse or in a comparable qualification.
- You must have professional experience in an acute hospital. Experience in insurance or service review is an advantage.
- Further training in medical coding is not required. What matters is your broad experience in inpatient acute medicine, your interest in coding, your willingness to learn, and your motivation to acquire this specialised field step by step.
- You can understand, classify, and document medical matters precisely. You question existing procedures in the review, contribute your own ideas, and enjoy working in a team.
- Careful, independent, and structured work is natural for you. Even with recurring tasks, you keep an overview and pay attention to high quality.
- You have good German language skills, both spoken and written. Knowledge of French or Italian is an advantage.
