We have successfully expanded our presence in Europe over the last 10 years with locations in the DACH region in Basel (Switzerland), Böblingen and Penzberg (Germany) and are now looking for a Project Engineer Process Technology (m/f/d) for our office in Basel.
Job Description
In this position, you are responsible for the planning and implementation of exciting projects in the pharmaceutical industry. Your area of responsibility includes planning a defined project scope, for example for a specific area or a series of equipment and systems. Through regular communication with our clients, you ensure that all requirements are met and that budget and schedule are adhered to. The process units, areas and systems to be managed range from small to medium-sized projects with corresponding complexity.
What to expect:
- You coordinate collaboration with internal and external engineers, clients, site managers, partners and suppliers
- You independently structure, prioritise and delegate complex tasks within the team
- You communicate effectively and regularly with clients or suppliers
- You are responsible for the creation, documentation and evaluation of mass and energy balances
- You identify deviations from the agreed project scope as well as changes in design direction and, if necessary, forward these to the discipline or project manager
- You have solid experience in preparing common project documentation and can support other colleagues in this
- You create block flow diagrams (BFDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- You prepare technical documentation and functional specifications for process equipment and qualification requirements
- You conduct technical bid evaluations
- Due to your experience and technical skills, you also take on additional tasks such as:
- FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests)
- Risk analyses
- HAZOP/HCCP or similar safety analyses
- Management of supplier packages
- Review of 3D models and coordination
- Resolution of 3D model collisions
- You act as a mentor for younger team members

Qualifications
- University degree in chemistry or biotechnology, process engineering or equivalent qualification
- Project experience (at least 5 years) within the pharmaceutical industry as a process engineer and/or project manager and excellent technical understanding
- Social competence, leadership talent and ability to work in a team
- Sound knowledge of FDA / EMA standards as well as cGMP and their interpretation in projects
- Ideally, you already have experience with 3D viewer software such as Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD
- Willingness to travel to project sites in the DACH region
- Very good language skills in German (B2+ including technical and industry-specific vocabulary) and English (C1+)
