Latin Teacher
Graubünden Cantonal School | 30–50 % | Chur
The Graubünden Cantonal School is an important educational institution with about 1,000 students of all three cantonal languages. As a section of the Office of Upper Secondary Education, it offers upper secondary school training cycles at the high school with long and short programs as well as at the specialized school, commercial school, and computer science school. As a Latin teacher, you teach students at the high school.
For our school, we are looking for a Latin teacher starting August 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teaching Latin as a core subject relevant for promotion to lower high school as well as an elective subject at the high school, concluding with the "Latinum Helveticum" Latin exam recognized by the Swiss Maturity Commission (CSM)
- Organizing and conducting project weeks, class events, and excursions in a team with other teachers
- Taking on various tasks within the team of teachers of the same subject
- Collaborating on development projects for the entire school
What we expect from you
- University degree in Latin as well as a teaching diploma for maturity schools
- Experience teaching at the upper secondary level and qualification in an additional subject are advantages
- You are a flexible person, proactive, able to work in a team, and enjoy working with young people. We are also looking for a communicative person who takes responsibility and is happy to engage in school life
- Knowledge of other cantonal languages complements your teacher profile at the trilingual school
