About the job
Protection and Rescue unites the organizations Fire Department Thun, Civil Protection Organization Thun plus, and the regional command body Thun plus under one roof. All organizations operate regionally and are based on the militia system with over 550 members. A total of twelve employees ensure administration, operations and training planning, as well as logistics. We are looking for a
Your tasks:
- You create, edit, and maintain emergency, operations, and precautionary plans across all organizations.
- In collaboration with the head of central services and the unit commanders of the fire department, you assist in creating the annual training plan and are responsible for implementing the course schedules.
- Customer support and planning of staff in our regional fire training center in Allmendingen are also part of your duties.
- Participation in the logistics of Protection and Rescue ensures the resilience of the organization and helps to absorb workload peaks in the logistics area.
You bring with you:
- We expect a successfully completed initial training with a Federal VET Diploma (EFZ).
- First knowledge and experience in civil protection, preferably in the fire department or civil protection.
- To support the militia during fire operations, respiratory protection fitness and willingness to complete the corresponding fire department training are required.
- For the maintenance and operation of our digital systems, advanced IT skills and good written expression are prerequisites.
- You are expected to have a high degree of independence, flexibility, and sense of responsibility. You must enjoy working with people and find it easy to approach individuals even in difficult situations.
- Ideally, you are between 25 and 35 years old and reside in Thun or a neighboring community.
