The Position
The Role
In this role, you are the contact person for our employees, management, and authorities on all matters of occupational safety, health, and environmental protection. You actively promote and drive occupational safety and sustainability standards at the CH sites. Furthermore, you support in close cooperation and coordination with all departments at the site, especially production and engineering.
Your Opportunities
- Support and advise customers and line authorities on all EHS matters
- Development of annual EHS goals considering global EHS objectives
- Review of all processes in the areas of plant safety, occupational safety, health protection including occupational hygiene and ergonomics, environmental protection
- Review of the implementation of legal and internal requirements
- Revision of the catalog of legal and other requirements; review and supplementation at least once a year
- Creation and updating of corresponding internal SOPs, instructions, and guidelines (only own processes)
- Review and approval of manufacturing instructions (BVOs) regarding EHS
- Training of employees in EHS aspects
- Support in the assessment of investment projects regarding compliance with applicable EHS laws and regulations
- Planning, conducting, and evaluating internal safety audits and inspections.
- Creation and updating of the database on toxicology, ecology, ecotoxicology, and safety of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products including waste based on literature, information from peer companies and authorities, as well as own tests
- Registration, classification, labeling, and documentation of substances and products according to relevant international and country-specific transport and chemical regulations, including REACH
- Creation and updating of documentation to comply with the Major Accidents Ordinance
- Overall control of the implementation and compliance with the Narcotics Ordinance and Narcotics Law
- Overall control of the implementation and compliance with regulations on the handling of waste and special waste
Who You Are
- Completed studies as a safety advisor ASGS/EKAS or safety engineer
- Several years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a chemical or pharmaceutical company.
- Comprehensive understanding of Swiss environmental, health, and safety legislation
- Ability to work in a team and communicate efficiently in front of people
- Training in the field of hazardous goods ADR/RID, IMDG, IATA
- Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written
