This is your area of responsibility
- You accompany, care for, and engage detainees, mainly youths up to 18 years old, within the daily structures from their entry to their release. In doing so, you take on various roles and actively contribute to reintegration
- As the first point of contact, you recognize the special challenges detainees face and provide them with orientation and support in this difficult situation
- To ensure an orderly daily routine, you ensure compliance with and enforcement of our safety and service regulations. In critical moments, you are able to recognize and professionally manage crisis situations
- As part of an interdisciplinary team, you also take on administrative tasks such as preparing reports and documenting events, as well as participating in meetings and team sessions
- Together with the team, you develop new leisure and meaningful activity offers for the youths and actively shape the weekly schedule
This is what you bring
- You approach people in a coercive context with a holistic perception and build professional social relationships with them. You understand how to consciously regulate closeness and distance to detainees and handle crisis situations prudently and proactively
- You bring great enthusiasm for your new work environment and actively participate in the development and design of detention conditions in remand custody
- You enjoy working with youths and have experience in youth work and/or a pedagogical education
- You are mentally resilient and flexible working hours (shift, night, weekend, and holiday duties) are compatible with your other commitments
- Since obtaining your federal certificate of competence, (specialized) Matura, specialized middle school diploma, or an equivalent qualification, you have gained several years of professional experience in your field – ideally in a comparable position
- You express yourself well in German both in writing and orally and ideally have knowledge of other languages
- You are proficient with the MS Office suite
- You are at least 25 years old and have an impeccable reputation (i.e., no relevant entries in the criminal record or debt enforcement register)
This is what makes this position special
- You can look forward to a demanding, interesting, and varied activity as well as a reliable, supportive team
- After careful induction into this dynamic and extraordinary work environment, you can take advantage of various internal or external training opportunities – such as part-time training to become a specialist in correctional services with a federal diploma
- The workplace is centrally located and easily accessible by public transport
- JuWe offers attractive employment conditions according to cantonal guidelines
