About us
The Institute of Infectious Diseases combines medical services, teaching and research under one roof and covers the entire spectrum of microbiology. With 200 employees, it is the only university institute in Switzerland to unite all microbiological special disciplines.
The Institute of Infectious Diseases is home to the National Reference Centre for Pneumococci and the National Centre for Antibiotic Resistance on behalf of the Federal Office of Public Health. Our biosafety centre is a collaboration centre of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The increasing number of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections requires new treatment strategies. The "Predatory Bacteria" laboratory of Prof. Simona Huwiler conducts basic research on predatory bacteria with the aim of understanding the microbial interaction between predator and prey.
Do you want to work in a dynamic environment where teamwork is valued and solidarity counts? If you are open, motivated and ready to take responsibility, we look forward to getting to know you. Apply now and become part of our dedicated team.
