Aon plc (NYSE:AON) is a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions. Our 60,000 colleagues in 120 countries empower results for clients by using proprietary data and analytics to deliver insights that reduce volatility and improve performance.
In Switzerland, Aon includes Aon Reinsurance, Aon Retirement & Investment and Aon Commercial Risk Solutions, Health & Affinity with around 380 employees in Basel, Locarno, Neuchâtel, Nyon, Geneva, Wollerau, Zug and Zurich.
We are a leading global professional services firm, supporting insurers with innovative reinsurance and risk solutions. Our Life, Accident & Health business operates at the intersection of actuarial analysis, client advisory and global reinsurance markets.
You will join a highly specialised team in Zurich that combines technical depth with strong market access. We offer an environment where analytical thinkers can grow, gain exposure to actuarial and reinsurance topics, and develop a long‑term career in life reinsurance.
Role Description
This role is well suited for analytically minded individuals with an interest in actuarial topics and life insurance, who are looking to apply quantitative thinking in a commercial, client‑facing environment. Pursuing a Swiss actuarial qualification is welcomed and supported, but not a requirement for the role.
As a Junior Life Reinsurance Broker, you will report to the Head of Life, Accident & Health and you will work closely with senior brokers and actuarial specialists, supporting the structuring, placement and ongoing management of life reinsurance solutions. You will gain practical exposure to the Swiss insurance landscape, actuarial concepts, data‑driven analysis and reinsurance markets — translating technical insights into real‑world client solutions.
From the outset, you will contribute to meaningful analytical and advisory work, while developing your technical skills and market understanding.
Expectations & Tasks
In this role, you will:
- Support senior brokers in the analysis and placement of life reinsurance treaties
- Work with actuarial and portfolio data to support pricing, structuring and renewal discussions
- Assist in preparing client presentations, reports and market submissions
- Support the renewal process and ongoing treaty administration
- Contribute to analytical projects, modelling work and internal research initiatives
- Continuously build technical knowledge of life insurance and reinsurance concepts
Work Experience
- Entry‑level role suitable for graduates or early‑career professionals
- Prior experience through internships or graduate roles in insurance, reinsurance, actuarial, finance or consulting is an advantage
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
We are looking for candidates who bring:
- A university degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, information technology or a related quantitative field
- Interest in actuarial topics and quantitative analysis; pursuing a Swiss actuarial qualification is an option
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Coding experience (e.g. VBA, Python, R or similar)
- A structured, reliable and collaborative working style
- Fluent German and English (required), French is an advantage
Why This Role Matters
This position offers a strong combination of technical exposure and market insight. You will work on real client portfolios, learn from experienced professionals, and build a solid foundation in life reinsurance — with the flexibility to deepen actuarial expertise over time, depending on your career aspirations.

- Flexible working hours, annual working time
- Autonomy, smart working solutions (up to 3 days home office at 100% employment)
