Academic Staff Member Long-Term Care

Planning and Management: In a team of three, you will plan the long-term care provision in the canton of Basel-Stadt in close cooperation with the department management, taking into account the strategic goals of the cantonal elderly care policy. You will prepare demand forecasts, develop care concepts and help shape the professional, economic and political developments in the field of outpatient, inpatient and intermediate long-term care.

Service Procurement and Collaboration: The Long-Term Care Department is responsible for ensuring and financing long-term care services for the population of Basel-Stadt. In this context, you will participate in negotiations with service providers and industry associations and maintain contacts with relevant stakeholders at municipal, cantonal and national levels. You will be responsible for tariff issues, the design of service contracts and undertake communication and controlling activities towards service providers in long-term care.

Reporting and Information: Your duties also include responding to parliamentary enquiries and motions, designing and writing information products for the public and politics, as well as delivering presentations and lectures to various target groups.

Experience: You have an interest in regional and health policy, are familiar with economic ways of thinking and can link both perspectives well. You enjoy developing various courses of action and evaluating them. You are confident working with complex figures and statistical data and have knowledge in project management. You already have professional experience in similar fields and are willing to familiarise yourself with this exciting area of responsibility.

You are characterised by an independent, systematic way of working as well as pronounced analytical skills and feel comfortable in interprofessional collaboration. You can handle divergent interests and think solution-oriented even under complex conditions.

Education: You hold a completed university degree (MA) in economics, social sciences or political science.

Language: You communicate fluently, factually and appropriately with various interest groups. You have negotiation-level German skills and a confident oral and written expression. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
