Clinical Nurse Specialist in Prison Psychiatry
We are looking for a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist in prison psychiatric units, holding a Master of Science in Nursing, for the Prison Medicine and Psychiatry Service (SMPP) - Department of Psychiatry at CHUV (DP-CHUV).
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Prison Medicine and Psychiatry Service (SMPP) meets all the health needs of the Vaud prison population. Its staff work directly in Vaud prisons, offering consultations to inmates. Its management and the ICLS position are located on the Cery site.
Mission
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist dedicated to psychiatric units in detention settings, at an 80% activity rate:
- You develop expert clinical practice with patients and their relatives
- You develop and provide training, advice, and guidance
- You ensure nursing leadership within the service, the institution, health networks, and prison correspondents
- You develop and lead nursing research projects, integrate them into practice, and contribute to the service's visibility through their publication
- You actively participate in the development of ethical reflection in the clinic, within care institutions, and in the prison environment.
Profile
Your profile meets the following conditions:
- You hold a Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent, with at least 6 years of experience in psychiatry
- You have professional experience in prison healthcare, an asset
- You hold a CAS/DAS in mental health
- You have good knowledge of the Vaud network and the Swiss healthcare system
- You demonstrate availability and flexibility
- You are involved in the development of the nursing profession
- You have excellent organisational skills
- You have a very good command of the French language and very good writing skills
- You have good knowledge of common IT tools
- You have a vehicle (essential.)
