Plant Optimization Engineer

Your mission at Climeworks is to optimize costs through Value Engineering, leading workshops, managing data, and fostering a culture of innovation while ensuring precision in cost analysis and reporting.

Value Engineering:

• Facilitate multi-disciplinary Value Engineering workshops to identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising project quality.


• Thoroughly record and manage Value Engineering (VE) Knowledge database to ensure continuous improvement of design and implementation.


• Provide tools and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering department. 


• Ensure technical accuracy, traceability, and efficiency of VE investigations and decisions.

Cost Analysis and Benchmarking:

• Conduct detailed cost analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement.


• Establish and maintain cost benchmarking processes to compare project costs against industry standards and best practices.


• Enable Plant Engineering team to better understand the impact of their decisions on Climeworks’ Total Cost of Ownership.


• De-construct the engineering first principles and metrics that drive CAPEX.


• Ensure technical accuracy, traceability, and efficiency of Cost Models.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Ensure technical accuracy, traceability, and efficiency of all CAPEX values in our cost records.
