Position Title: Clinical Supply Chain Leader (temporary contract for 2 years)

The Global Clinical Supply Chain Organization’s mission (PTDS part of PTD) is to ensure that no patient goes without treatment and no clinical trial is delayed. Our vision is to enable an adaptive Supply Chain delivering innovative and sustainable clinical supply solutions anytime, anywhere, to anyone. We directly contribute to the success of Roche’s robust and diverse pipeline of biopharmaceuticals as our team is accountable for the Clinical Supply of more than 100 molecules in 600+ clinical trials across 7 disease areas. Planning Team members have an in-depth understanding of demand and supply planning, scenario planning, clinical trial protocol design and how to apply different techniques for supply chain optimization while maintaining patient centricity. We engage with various stakeholders such as Technical Development Teams (TDTs) and Clinical Operations to align supply chain activities with project milestones and are accountable for the reliable continuous supply of IMP from first-patient-in through completion of the clinical trial in line with international standards and regulatory requirements. On top, we are leading matrix teams to ensure smooth setup and management of our supplies. Our team is globally oriented and provides a uniform service level for all customers of Clinical Supply.


The Opportunity

As a Clinical Supply Chain Leader, you will play a variety of roles according to your experience, knowledge, and general business/team requirements, such as:

  • Demand and Supply Planning and inventory management in ERP system (i.e. SAP) for aggregate and long-range IMP program planning

  • Ensuring alignment of key activities & timelines of the cross-functional team to successfully set up and supply each clinical trial, including maintaining oversight on performance and issues to ensure study supplies are provided in line with the agreed scope of work and timelines

  • Forecast, plan, communicate, and initiate procurement of Other Study Drug/comparator drug as required

  • Consider and incorporate all regulatory & quality relevant requirements and changes for clinical trial material into a supply plan

  • Ownership of various Clinical Supply Chain business processes and/or related systems; leading cross-functional teams as required driving business improvement, influencing change, and ensuring global process integration

Who you are

  • You hold a Master's Degree inLife Sciences, Business (Economics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management) or Engineering

  • You bring more than 5 years of related experience in Clinical Supply Chain, Clinical Operations, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, or other Supply Chain disciplines, preferably in the Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry.

  • You have work experience in the GMP environment (e.g. pharmaceutical or food industry) or in equivalent supply chain functions

  • You are experienced in ERP systems, e.g. SAP, OMP, APO and IRT, as well as in global supply chain or related project team environments. Holding supply chain certifications (e.g. APICS, CPIM, CSCP) and Operational Excellence/Six Sigma/Lean training is a plus.

  • Ability to work and analyze big data (e.g. SQL Programming) and programming skills would be an asset
