Senior Process Engineer - Temporary Contract

Casale SA is a leading firm specializing in designing and implementing innovative plants to produce green ammonia, ammonia, nitrates, phosphates, urea, methanol, melamine, and syngas.

In this frame, the company is seeking a dynamic Process Engineer to join its Utilities & Off-site Section team and work with a passionate, detail-oriented, and international team to develop and maintain our projects.


The primary responsibilities are:



  • To prepare and manage the technical documentation preparation in cooperation with Utility and off-site Managers, Process Managers and/or Process Project Leaders (PPL) for the Projects starting from the early stage (H&M balance, Process Flow Diagrams; Equipment data sheets, Package Duty Specification, etc.),

  • To suggest the process guarantees, to evaluate correlated technical process risks, to provide technical information for the preparation of cost estimation;

  • To size any process equipment such as Pumps, Tanks, Separators, Columns, Heat Exchangers, Flares, Loading systems, Liquid and Solid Products Handling Facilities;

  • To support technical alignment of supplier’s offer, for the assigned projects;

  • To prepare and manage the technical documentation required in the executive project stage (Technical Data Sheets and other process contractual documentation) according to the agreed technical requirements and time constraints fixed in the contract and in agreement with the Process Project Leader (PPL);

  • To ensure the follow-up of Vendors' documentation in the assigned projects, by verifying for the matter of competence the consistency of drawings, documentation, and technical guarantees with contractual requirements;

  • To monitor and ensure the compliance with timing and man-hours budget of the Department and to prepare the related reports for the assigned projects;

  • To participate in technical meetings with Clients or Vendors during the proposal and/or executive stage of the assigned projects;

  • To guarantee technical support to other Departments involved in the proposal and/or in the executive stage of the assigned projects;

  • To support the commissioning manager in the pre-commissioning, commissioning stages, start-up, and test run of plants. When required he participates directly at sites to these phases of the project;

  • To be responsible to adopt and follow Company quality procedures;


Education


Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equiv.


Languages


Italian Fluent, English Fluent - knowledge of any other language may be an asset.


Software knowledge


Good practical experience in using the following software:


  • Honeywell UNISIM
  • Flarenet
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

Skills



  • Understand and utilize in-house calculation tools and develop dedicated calculation sheets or tools for specific needs.

  • Proficient in the use of simulation tools and hydraulic calculation tools.

  • Capable of preparing and managing comprehensive technical documentation from the early stages to the executive stages of projects.

  • Skilled in evaluating technical process risks and providing technical support and information for cost estimation.

  • Ability to verify and ensure the consistency of vendor documentation with contractual requirements.

  • Effective in participating in technical meetings and communicating with Clients or Vendors to ensure project alignment.

  • Ability to monitor project compliance with time and budget constraints and prepare relevant reports.

  • Capable of supporting other departments and ensuring cross-departmental technical consistency and support.

  • Experience in supporting and potentially participating in on-site activities during the commissioning and start-up phases.


Experience


Between 5 and 10 years of working experience in a similar role.


Preference will be given to those candidates who have gained the required experience:


  • in an EPC company operating in the chemical, petrochemical, or oil and gas sectors.
  • Experience in Utilities and Off-Sites Systems is an asset.
  • On a similar role in the last 5 years.
