For our client, an international company based in Zurich-Oerlikon, we are looking for a motivated and proactive Project Manager Structural Engineering (f/m/d).

Duration: 5 months (with a possibility of extension or transition into a permanent position)

Workload: 80-100% (Ideally 100%, 80% considered)

Remote/Home Office: Hybrid - 1 day home office per week, with presence in the Zurich office 4 days per week
Tasks & Responsibilities

Technical Project Management: Manage steel structure projects across all phases, starting from sales, through design and production, up to the completion of on-site assembly.

Project Execution & Compliance: Hold technical and commercial responsibility for project execution in compliance with relevant standards, while adhering strictly to deadlines, costs, and material objectives.

Stakeholder & Interface Management: Collaborate with sales, project management, project engineering, and customers to define requirements. Act as the primary interface between Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) project engineering and steel support engineering.

Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate the project engineering activities of international engineering teams (based in the Czech Republic and India) as well as external partners to ensure efficient delivery.

Supply Chain Support: Initiate supply chain processes for the creation and fabrication of steel structures and platforms.

Quality Assurance & Resolution: Perform thorough quality checks on deliverables. Lead the resolution of steel quality issues on-site and in factories, manage quality cases (Q cases), and assist site teams with non-conformance reports (NCRs).

Continuous Improvement: Conduct root-cause analyses of quality and project-related issues to develop sustainable solutions. Maintain and share lessons learned to propose and implement process optimization ideas.
Qualifications

Academic Background: Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.

Professional Experience: Proven experience in technical project management within the field of civil engineering, specifically focused on steel construction. Knowledge of Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) is a significant advantage.

Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership qualities, experience in intercultural cooperation, and the assertiveness required to effectively manage virtual, international teams.

Software & Engineering Tools: Proficiency in CAD (2D and 3D Auto-CAD) is required. Knowledge of structural analysis programs (e.g., SCIA Engineer, STAAD Pro), BIM software (Tekla Structures), or SAP is highly advantageous.

Standards & Codes: Desirable knowledge of European and international building codes (EC, AISC, EN 1090).

Organizational & Mindset Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, high-quality standards, and an innovative mindset that drives process enhancements.

Language Skills: Very good knowledge of English is required; knowledge of German or other languages is a strong plus.
