Job Description
About the role As Line Manager Production Engineer & Packaging, you will directly lead and shape a high-performing engineering team to ensure stable, high-yield, and cost-effective IC manufacturing across assembly, test, and packaging. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic business delivery. Your role combines strong people leadership, operational oversight, and supplier ecosystem governance to optimize production output from industrialization to mass production
Your responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Production Engineers and Package Engineers, providing clear technical direction and strong people leadership. Own production readiness, industrialization, and high-volume manufacturing ramp-up of new products across assembly and test Drive yield improvement, cost reduction, and production capability enhancements across wafer fab, assembly and test operations. Coordinate and lead the resolution of production issues, including yield excursions, equipment-related problems, and reliability risks. Oversee package development activities to ensure reliability, performance, quality, and manufacturability targets are consistently met. Ensure robust documentation, change control, and alignment of production and package specifications across the organization and supply chain.
Your profile
University degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Several years of experience in semiconductor production, assembly, and/or test engineering. Proven experience in leading and developing technical engineering teams. Strong understanding of IC manufacturing flows, yield management, and production ramp-up. Experience working with external manufacturing partners (fabs, OSATs, test houses) in a global supply chain. Structured, data-driven problem solver with strong analytical and communication skills. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment with multiple stakeholders. Good team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus
Nice to have
Experience with automotive or industrial quality standards (e.g. IATF 16949). Familiar with package development, qualification, or reliability principles Background in cost optimization and continuous improvement programs.
