Montanstahl is a leading international manufacturer of customized steel profiles, headquartered in Stabio, Switzerland.

As part of our company-wide AI transformation, we are looking for an AI & Data Platform Lead to design and develop the technical foundation connecting enterprise data, business applications and AI capabilities.

This is a senior, hands-on role: you will define the architecture and standards while also building and delivering solutions.

What you will do

• Define and evolve the company’s AI, data and integration architecture
• Design secure integrations between ERP systems, legacy applications, Microsoft 365 and cloud services
• Build and manage APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines and AI-ready data solutions
• Establish data governance standards covering quality, ownership, access, retention and security
• Identify and deliver AI initiatives with measurable business value
• Lead the adoption of approved LLM platforms and support users with practical guidance and training
• Evaluate new technologies from a business, technical, security and compliance perspective
• Guide internal technical teams and external partners

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, applications integration or similar technical roles
• Strong knowledge of APIs, ETL/ELT, orchestration, monitoring and error handling
• Hands-on experience designing or operating data platforms in production
• Experience with data governance and access-control models
• Practical experience delivering GenAI or LLM applications used by real users
• Ability to combine technical leadership with hands-on delivery
• Good working proficiency in Italian and English

Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, OpenAI or Anthropic is a plus. Experience in manufacturing, ERP or MES environments is also welcome.
