Do you have previous experience in Mechanical design and CAD Design using SolidWorks? We are looking for a full time Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f) who could join our team in Zurich.
Function: Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks Specialist)
Job Type: Full Time position
Knowledge & Previous Experiences: 2+ years experience with SolidWorks is mandatory.
Education: Mechanical Engineering, University of Applied Sciences, Federal Certificate of Competence EFZ or equivalent
Languages: Fluent English oral & written. German represents a plus.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, proactive in tackling challenges independently, and capable of managing their responsibilities with minimal supervision. Success in this role requires adaptability to shifting priorities, the ability to stay organized, and a collaborative spirit to contribute effectively within a small, fast-paced Engineering team.
Other requirements: Only Swiss residency will be considered
Key Requirements:
- Highly skilled in SolidWorks
- Ability to create Technical Assembly and Work Instruction
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems for data and revision control
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
- Proficiency in tolerance analysis and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Knowledge of plastic part design and silicone injection moulding processes
- Ability to create prototypes with rapid prototyping tools.
- Familiarity with 3D printing technologies: FDM, SLA, MultiJet/PolyJet, and SLS
- Experience in traditional manufacturing processes (molding, machining, composite materials, etc.)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment
- Strong attention to details and technical accuracy.
- Team player attitude, proactivity, and willingness to learn
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks for components, assemblies, and systems in line with project specifications and engineering standards
- Translate engineering concepts, sketches, and requirements into accurate technical documentation and CAD models
- Design and validate mould for silicone injection mouding
- Collaborate closely with our Design team to support product development, prototyping, and optimization
- Prepare and maintain technical drawings, BOMs (Bills of Materials),
- Create Work and Assembly Instructions for the manufacturing team
- Revise and update designs based on testing results, feedback, or design changes
- Ensure all CAD data is stored and managed properly within our systems
- Support R&D and engineering projects throughout the full product lifecycle — from concept through to final release
- Assist in design reviews by providing technical input
- Maintain design consistency and ensure compliance with industry standards, internal guidelines, and manufacturing constraints
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, R&D, Design and Quality Teams when needed
