Your Role

As AIX System Engineer at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you are strengthening our platform team as a professional and experienced engineer and providing maintenance, optimization and modernization of our enterprise infrastructure across AIX, Linux environments.

Your Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain AIX-based enterprise systems, including LPARs, VIO, NIM and HMC/IVM

Operate, maintain and expand Linux and Unix systems, as well as their basic infrastructure (storage, hardware and network)

Collaborate in conceiving and implementing projects, as well as further developing and optimizing existing infrastructure

Provide second level support within the existing support organization, including on-call duty

Ensure compliance with security policies, backup strategies, and change management procedures

Demonstrate expertise working with Ansible to automate daily tasks

Your Profile

University degree (university / FH) in Computer Science

5 years of hands-on experience with IBM AIX (versions 7.1/7.2/7.3)

Experience with enterprise storage (SAN, NFS, GPFS) and virtualization (PowerVM)

First relevant work experience in LPAR/VIO management

3+ years of experience administering Linux (RHEL preferred) and strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ansible)

Experience with ITIL methodologies

Fluency in English; fluency in German is a plus

Willingness to travel (~5-10%)

Ability to weight problems and set priorities, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills

Willingness to take responsibility and ability to work under pressure
