Spin qubits in semiconductor quantum dots are among the most promising building blocks for future quantum technologies. The <b>Quantum Opto-Electronics Group (QOEG)</b>, led by Prof. Dr. Tomasz Smolenski at the Department of Physics, University of Basel, invites you to join this groundbreaking project within the <b>NCCR SPIN consortium</b>. This position offers the unique opportunity to make significant contributions to the field. You will work at the forefront of quantum research, contributing to a platform for dynamical Q-switching of superconducting resonators. <br/><br/><h3><b>Your position</b> </h3> <ul> <li>Develop and implement a platform for dynamical optical <b>Q-switching of</b> superconducting resonators to achieve ultrafast and nondestructive readout of gate-defined spin qubits. </li> <li>Conduct high-frequency <b>opto-transport experiments at cryogenic temperatures</b>. </li> <li>Design, build, and optimize experimental setups for optoelectronic measurements </li> <li>Collaborate closely with consortium partners, particularly the groups of Prof. Richard Warburton and Dr. Andreas Kuhlmann </li> </ul> <br/><br/><h3><b>Your profile</b> </h3> <i>Required:</i> <br/> <ul> <li>PhD (completed or near completion) in Physics, Nanoscience, Electrical/<i class="ilb"></i>Optical Engineering, or related fields </li> <li>Proven expertise in <b>condensed matter physics</b>, particularly in quantum dot systems or superconducting circuits (evidenced by publications or projects) </li> <li>Experience with high-frequency transport experiments at low temperatures </li> <li>Proficiency in computer-based data acquisition and processing (e.g., Python, C++, LabView) </li> <li>Proven track record of high-impact research publications and conference presentations </li> <li>Excellent teamwork and communication skills </li> <li>Demonstrated ability to <b>work autonomously, innovate</b>, and <b>drive projects forward</b> </li> <li>Excellent written and spoken English </li> </ul> <br/><i> Desirable:</i> <br/> <ul> <li>Experience with dilution refrigerators </li> <li>Experience with ultrafast optical experiments and pulsed laser systems </li> </ul> <br/><br/><h3><b>We offer you</b> </h3> Thrive in an inspiring, international research environment with cutting-edge infrastructure, where your work will <b>directly impact</b> the future of quantum technologies.
