This works well in the company
In my opinion, the company offers potentially interesting work opportunities, but these are not being fully utilized. The modern public image is appealing, but in my experience, it did not reflect the reality within the company. I found some colleagues to be collegial and helpful. I considered the compensation fair, even though, in hindsight, I would not accept it again. The strong local roots at the site are also evident in the working language, which, in my experience, is consistently Swiss German. This can be a challenge for international employees. There are long-term employees, but some of them seemed resigned to me. There are certainly capable and dedicated employees. I did not view the departure of capable employees as a coincidence, but rather as a pattern. The values defined in the code of conduct are exemplary. However, I perceived a significant gap between these stated values and the reality on the ground. Looking back, I expressly distance myself from certain values that I observed being practiced.
This could be improved
At the Münchenstein location, I sensed a persistently tense atmosphere. I also detected a similar sense of dissatisfaction in conversations with employees. In my immediate surroundings, I glimpsed depths I never would have thought possible. My impression was that even a small number of people are enough to permanently poison the entire work environment. I found the onboarding process to be unstructured. My impression was that one was expected to perform at the level of long-term employees immediately. I felt that the time needed for this was well known, but it was not granted to me. I found the behavior of certain managers to be unprofessional. I have never encountered anything like this in any other professional setting. I had the impression that managers were primarily looking out for each other. I did not perceive any sense of responsibility or duty of care toward employees. HR seemed to be aware of systemic shortcomings without responding appropriately. I did not feel there was a psychological safety that would allow one to ask questions openly or admit mistakes. In my view, existing power dynamics were being exploited. I did not perceive any functioning escalation channels. Decisions that had a massive impact on my career seemed as though they had been made long ago. Anyone applying here should be aware that they are taking a risk. Anyone entering the workforce after years of training who finds themselves in such a situation faces significant career damage that can threaten their livelihood. In my experience, the company doesn’t care in the slightest. This experience has left scars that I still feel to this day. My advice: do your due diligence. If an interview offer follows: the time for that would have been beforehand. Looking back, I would have passed on the salary if it had spared me this experience.
