The International Rail Transport Committee (CIT), based in Bern, Switzerland, is an international association comprising over 100 railway and shipping companies that provide international passenger and/or freight transport by rail. As a centre of expertise in international rail transport law, we support the relevant legislative processes in this field in the interests of our members, implement international law at company level, and standardise and simplify contractual relationships.
