About the job
With us, you can specifically contribute your AI and infrastructure know-how and actively help shape the development of our central, hybrid AI platform. You can expect a structured induction, an experienced team with a "can-do mentality" and an environment where innovation, personal responsibility and personal development are highly valued.
Your tasks
- Together with the team, you identify AI potentials, conduct feasibility studies and develop viable solutions for specialist departments and internal teams.
- You independently develop AI applications (e.g. mail assistant or log management) using PyTorch and Python, for example, and bring them into productive operation.
- The design and implementation of RAG systems, system prompts, guardrails as well as the integration of MCP servers are part of your responsibilities.
- In close cross-team collaboration with IT security, network and platform teams, you ensure that AI services are provided securely, performantly and in a standardised manner.
- You work closely with IT architecture, introduce modern approaches in the field of AI and support requirement engineering around GenAI.
- Testing workflows and LLMs, evaluating new models and contributing to best practices and governance topics complete your range of tasks - as an enabler and driver of AI in DIIN.
Your profile
- Sound knowledge of Python and ideally experience with PyTorch as well as modern LLM frameworks distinguish you.
- You bring practical experience in dealing with LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases and prompt engineering; knowledge of MCP, agent frameworks or guardrails is a plus.
- You are enthusiastic about modern AI and platform topics and have a good understanding of IT security, network, virtual server environments and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) as well as ideally GPU workloads or MLOps.
- A structured, solution-oriented way of working as well as enjoyment in collaborating with internal teams (security, network, platform, architecture, IAM) and external partners complete your profile.
- In addition to training in the IT field, you have several years of professional experience in a comparable role (e.g. AI engineering, data science, platform engineering) and very good German skills in spoken and written form (understanding Swiss German).
