In this exciting position, you will accompany the development of the Bernese municipalities and regions in the settlement and landscape area. You will work closely with municipal and regional planning authorities, rely on zoning plans and laws, and establish trusting partnerships. A committed interdisciplinary team from the fields of spatial planning and law awaits you in Nidau and Bern.

Your tasks

• Pre-examination of land use and special land use plans (plans and regulations) as well as zoning plans
• Participate in the approval of plans including appeal procedures
• Prepare official and specialist reports
• Advise municipalities and regions on spatial planning matters
• Participate in interdisciplinary projects and working groups

Your profile

• University degree in spatial or urban planning, geography, architecture, landscape architecture or a comparable discipline
• Knowledge and experience in spatial planning, good spatial imagination
• Experience as a project manager with analytical and conceptual skills
• Goal- and customer-oriented working style, great interest in interdisciplinary collaboration in a bilingual environment, assertiveness
• Language skills: French fluent in spoken and written (C2-C1) / German good knowledge (B2)

The Office for Municipalities and Spatial Planning of the Canton of Bern (AGR) is committed as a cantonal supervisory and approval authority to sustainable spatial and municipal development for the benefit of the population and the economy. We deal with questions of spatial planning and spatial development at municipal, regional and cantonal levels, examine and approve plans of municipalities and regions, and assess construction projects outside building zones. We supervise municipal finances, examine and approve municipal ordinances, and advise municipalities on municipal law issues as well as on reforms and mergers.
